Home phone
#1
I have a contract with Verizon which runs till November. They charge $30 for my home phone. Does anyone have any advice about voip services? I would not be making any overseas calls.

Get an Obi 200 and port your number to Google Voice.

I also went the Ooma route, buying a refurbished Telos from Amazon and then I ported my number over. I did have to pay for the box and a fee for porting the number, but now my home phone is costing around $5/month (911 fee, other state charges). The service has been good so far.
